Our life is full of situations where we need to pause, evaluate and thereafter take actions. Actions that are both big and small and that impact our personal or professional lives.
Ask an entrepreneur. This is so frequent and truly tiring. Amongst many, firefighting is a day to day ‘routine’. Imagine, the burnout rate of individuals! No wonder, many Start ups simmer and finally lie cold due to these challenges.
So how does one effectively come out of this dilemma, with the correct answers? Each time. Every time?
Let us get accustomed with one such magic key, today.
There is a simple, small, known to all, English word ‘WHY’ in which lies the secret.
Let us take an example of a Start up. I think of embarking on the Start up journey and I zero in on a certain idea. WHY? - Why am I choosing this idea? Say, the idea has to potential to impact many people positively. Again - Why do I think this is the ONLY idea that is workable? So I jot down the reasons. Next come the financial model. WHY? Why should it be priced like this? This will open doors to your competitive analysis. WHY do I feel this price bracket will be ideal? This will formulate your pricing policy. and so on…
For someone starting off on an entrepreneurial journey, it is important to know, how your idea can pan out. Simulate the pros and cons. Shorten the testing time. Zero in on the guaranteed growth model and pump in your energy to make it happen.
This word ‘WHY’ is a critical ingredient to ensure a successful future. Yet, it is one of the many magical solutions one can learn and use.
Spend a lot of time with a pen, paper and yourself. Away from the phone and laptop (tablet included!) WRITE! Ask yourself the questions. Jot down the answers. Question the reasoning again. Think deep. Explore more. Believe me, each step, each question, each answer pushes you towards your Success.
Do this when you are starting off. If you missed that bus. Time to pause and activate this model NOW!
Usually, one finds it difficult to find time for such essential activities. It becomes important to rope in a catalyst. A Mentor. A Success Coach.
